AASU Academic Honors
We all need joy, especially now as we struggle to cope with multiple pandemics. What better time to introduce you to "our" Harvard Business School graduates who have been honored with Baker Scholar designation, Second Year Honors, Dean's Awards and MBAs with Distinction. Please congratulate these academic honors recipients and all of our MBA 2020 graduates, as we welcome them into our robust HBSAAA network. We extend special thanks to AASU's Co-president Alexis Jackson and Cathy Chukwulebe, vice president of alumni relations, for their extraordinary help in coordinating this feature.

Zubby Achara, Baker Scholar

My EC winter break travels! Hanging out all day in Barbados and Jamaica with my AASU best friends Kim Foster, Tyler Calhoun, and Matt Sauers, before going on to Houston and Cuba with my best friends from Section H.
What's next?
A six-month post-MBA internship with a small market cap investment fund, and Boston Consulting Group from December 2020 onward.
Nicole Ivey, Baker Scholar
Best memory at HBS
My favorite memory at HBS is when I met the group of girlfriends who would be some of my closest friends in one afternoon. We all took a yoga class together by chance and just sort of knew were destined to be friends. So many more wonderful adventures flowed from that moment.
What's next?
I'm working on my VC-backed start-up, Village. Village is building nursery schools and preschools anchored in mindfulness, nature, equity, and community.
Reggie Smith, Baker Scholar

It's hard to pick one. I loved celebrating my birthday in Israel, including rafting on the Jordan River. I loved being in the classroom, making new friends, and sharing the experience with my family when they came to visit. I've had the time of my life and I thank God for all I've experienced.
What's next?
I will be working at Eventide Asset Management in Boston investing in
clean energy and sustainability-focused companies.
Richard Waitumbi, Baker Scholar
Best memory at HBS
My best HBS memory is the FIELD Global Immersion program. I grew up a global citizen. Born in Kenya, but raised in France, Israel, Kenya, and the United States, I have an immense appreciation and curiosity for different cultures. Spending two weeks in Thailand, a part of the world I had never visited before, and learning about their rich culture and business perspectives was an educational experience that will have a profound and lasting impact on me.
What's next?
In August, I will be joining Bain Capital's Double Impact group as a vice
president. In the meantime, I am working on co-founding an investment company
that seeks to provide credit to small and medium-sized businesses in the East
Africa region.
Cole Weston, Baker Scholar
Best memory at HBS
My best HBS memory was facilitating a discussion as Section President where the section came together in person for the last time before the School switched to virtual learning due to COVID-19. We were able to share reflections and feelings of gratitude.
What's next?
After HBS, I will work at KKR where I will focus on real estate private equity investing.
More Academic Honors to Celebrate
Youssouf Camara, Second Year Honors
Best memory at HBS
The boat party on the ABC/AASU spring retreat 2019.
What's next?
I'm still exploring what to do next.
Connor Cash, Dean's Award
Best memory at HBS
My best HBS memory is doing my MyTake for my section. I don't think I felt comfortable with my interactions with my section mates until I was able to open up and share my personal story at that moment. For me, that was the turning point in getting closer with so many of the classmates I now consider close friends.
What's next?
I will be working on my early-stage startup, Caesar, a sustainability reporting software for large businesses that I founded while at HBS.
Robbie Dixon, Dean's Award
Best memory at HBS
The AASU fall retreat EC year was such a highlight for me. It was the perfect mix of fun and community building and set the tone for what would be an amazing year.
What's next?
Working on a personalized restaurant recommendation startup co-founded by two close friends from HBS. Check us out at trybeli.com!
Amina Edwards, MBA with Distinction
Best memory at HBS
Working with classmates to coach small businesses during COVID-19.
What's next?
Working on election security as a resident fellow at the Defending Digital Democracy Project (Kennedy School).
Alexxis Isaac, Dean's Award
Best memory at HBS
One of my favorite HBS memories was visiting Ghana through FGI and visiting Cape Coast. One morning, Perri (fellow AASU HBS 2020) and I woke up early to walk to the slave castle nearby to watch the sunrise and reflect. We met a Ghanian as the sun was rising who said "You see what they did to us? Welcome back home." In these recent weeks especially I have thought back to the power of that moment. Realizing how far we have come but also how much further we have to go. It will stay with me forever.
What's next?
I will be joining the Mayor's Office in the City of Boston as advisor to the Mayor as a part of the HBS Leadership Fellows Program.
Peggy Mativo-Ochola, Second Year Honors

Dancing with all my friends... it's a great reminder not to take yourself too seriously.
What's next?
I'm heading to BCG in Nairobi. Looking to lead a life of meaning and impact.
